Funeral services for Karen Nash will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, at Canaan Baptist Church with Reverends Morris Goins, Jason Nolde, and Joe Call officiating. The burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Serving as pallbearers will be Justin Underwood, Levi Underwood, Nathan Underwood, Lane Nash, Jacob Nash, and Chris Golden, and the honorary pallbearers will be Weston Edwards, Cory Underwood, and Bentley Underwood.
A visitation will be held at Canaan Baptist Church on Tuesday, October 8th from 5:00 p.m. until the time of service on Wednesday.
Karen was born October 3, 1956, in Pineville, LA and passed away in Leesville, LA October 6, 2024, at the age of 68. For over 36 years, she proudly worked at Byrd Hospital as the supervisor of material management and loved everyone there as her second family. Karen attended Oak Forest and Canaan Baptist churches where she loved to sing the older hymns. She enjoyed being outdoors fishing, growing roses, or watching hummingbirds. Her dog, Axel, held a special place in her heart, and her family was the center of her life. Her feisty, sharp sense of humor kept them laughing, and they will cherish her legacy of love.
Karen was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Dwayne Nash; granddaughter, Shyann Nash; parents, Willie Ray Martin and Vergie Lee Martin LaCaze; brother, Doyle Ray Martin; and sisters, Joy Faye Baker and Beverly Jeanine Martin.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tracy Lee Underwood (Thomas) and Tangie Nash all of Leesville, LA
son, Tommy Nash (Sherry) of Hornbeck, LA;
grandchildren, Justin Underwood, Levi Underwood (Molly), Nathan Underwood (Brianna), Derrin Underwood (Katilyn), Ashtyn Fregia (Kade), Jacob Nash, Lane Nash, and Haleigh Underwood (Cory);
great-grandchildren, Weston, Bentley, Kenli, Callie, Emmy, Landry, Willow, Maria, and Whitley;
brother, Roger Martin (Carmen) of Leesville, LA;
sisters, Pat Golden (Dale) of Alvin, TX and Nelda Woods (Bill) of Angleton, TX;
close friends, Trina Haymon and Shelia Hillman-Goins;
her second family at Byrd Hospital;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
