Master gardener. Woodworker. Saw shop owner. Logger. Husband. Father. Pawpaw. Singer. Veteran. Friend to many. Stranger to none. He wore many hats, but being a man of God was the one he was most proud of. He believed in going above and beyond in everything that he did. Some people grow a few rows of peas, he grew a field or two. Some make a jar of jelly, he made enough for the whole community. Some people get a few chickens; he thought it would be a good idea to have 100. Some sing a song while at church- he sang no matter where he was (or what time of night it was). Some people impact one or two lives, but he impacted more people than we could ever know. He was faithful, His trust in God never wavered, and he was more than ready to go home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willis E. Robinson & Minerva Meylian Robinson, wife, Patricia Robinson, daughter, Paula Smith, brother Waymon Robinson and sister Patty Robinson Chaney.
Alton is survived by his son, Benjamin Robinson (Rhesa) of Baton Rouge, daughter Dedra Morrison of Hineston, son in law Billy Smith (Penny) of Deridder, grandchildren, Leah Wead (Eric) of Noble, Morgan Rodgers (Benjamin) of England, Madison Morrison of Alexandria, Haley & Haden Robinson of Baton Rouge, and great grandson, Jed Lane Wead of Noble, as well as his bonus children, David & Naomi Smith of Hineston.
The Robinson Family would like to thank the nurses of Lexington House for their exceptional care. Thank you also to every friend & family member who went above & beyond to visit, encourage and pray for Alton.
