Obituary for Larry Wayne Bruce
Funeral services for Larry Wayne Bruce will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 16, 2022, at First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville with Reverends George Lee Glass, Mark Christian, Sandy Guynn, and Jeffrey Pitman officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Friday from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Larry was born April 8, 1952, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away December 14, 2022, in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 70. He graduated from Leesville High School in 1970 and was a proud Louisiana Tech graduate in 1974. Larry received his CPA certificate and began his long career. He used his talents to serve his community as a past treasurer of the Leesville Lions Club and was a board member of the Chamber of Commerce. Larry was a member of Grace Church in DeRidder and worked in their Aaron’s Ministry program. He truly loved being a volunteer fire fighter from the time he was in college until his health prevented him from volunteering. He enjoyed spending time in his yard keeping it neat and clean.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin Ray Bruce and Lillie Mae Golemon Bruce; brother, Russell Therell Bruce; and nephew, Norman Bruce.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 48 years, Rose Evelyn Hilton Bruce of Leesville, LA;
son, Jonathan Ethan Bruce and fiancée Alysia Copen both of Leesville, LA;
nieces, Jamie Gordy and husband David of Leesville and Renee Roberts of Colorado Springs, CO;
and numerous friends.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Roberts, Brandon Major, Skylar Watson, Jarrett Isgitt, David Gordy, and
Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Pitman and Mark Green.
