Obituary for Ronald Eugene Watkins
Funeral services for Ronald Eugene Watkins will be held on Saturday, June 19, 2021, at Rivers of Living Water Church, 509 North Third St., Leesville, LA at 2:00 PM under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and continue until service time.
Ronald Eugene Watkins was born in Atlanta, GA on March 12, 1946, to Robert Watkins and Mary Lou McDonald. He passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021, at his home in New Llano, LA. He was the third of ten children. Ronald was in the military for 20 years and met his wife, Doris Watkins, during one of his many tours to Germany. After many tours around the world and fighting in the Vietnam war, he and his family settled in Leesville, LA. He worked for 20 years in the civil service through Fort Polk and retired after many years at Toledo Bend Recreation Site. His most beloved past time was fishing and playing many rounds of golf. Ronald was a devoted and loving son, husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, golfer and friend.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Thomas, Robertina, and Charlie Mae Watkins, Brenda, Gloria, Sabrina, and Joycy Faye MacDonald.
He is survived by his wife, Doris E. Watkins,
daughter, Belinda Watkins
grandchildren, Raven, Sierra, Carvin and Aiden Watkins
great grandchildren, Sanaa, Sophie, Aavis, Pierce, Ryleigh, Paisley, and Nash
sister, Lucy McDonald and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
