Obituary for Carl Tibbitts Sr.
Funeral services for Carl Dalton Tibbitts Sr. will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2017, at Pine Hill Baptist Church, 128 Pine Hill Road Leesville, LA 71446, with Reverend Durhl Davis officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery.
Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2017, at Pine Hill Baptist Church and will continue until the time of service.
Carl was born on March 17, 1947, and passed away on May 30, 2017, at the age of 70. Carl was born and raised in Vernon parish and was a graduate of Leesville High School. After serving his country in the U.S Army, Carl was a firefighter for the city of Leesville for 28 years. On his days off, he worked at Alexander’s Auto Salvage and enjoyed racing cars. He built most of his cars himself. He enjoyed watching wrestling. Most of all, Carl loved his family and he will be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend.
Carl was preceded in death by his parents, C.C. Tibbitts and Pauline Knapp McManus; sister, Carolyn Jeane; and nephews, Garner Jeane and Christopher Tibbitts.
Left to cherish his memory are his sons: Carl Tibbitts Jr. of Leesville, LA and William Tibbitts and wife Brandy of Anacoco, LA
Daughters: Carla Gattis and husband Rocky of Leesville, LA and Belinda Rabenstein and husband Brian of Altonna, PA
Brother: C.C. “Buddy” Tibbits and wife Carol of New Llano, LA
Grandchildren: Patrick Robinson, Jacquelyn Robinson, Kristen Robinson, Nathan Rabenstein, Payton Tibbitts, Noah Tibbitts, Hannah Rabenstein, Carleigh Tibbitts, and Dalton Tibbitts
A host of extended family.
Someone who was always there and the mother of his children, Debra Kaye Wilt.
Special friends: Hobo, George Furgeson, and Gene Alexander
Pallbearers will be Donnie McKee, Kyle Bush, Stacy Dixon, Nathan Condon, Marvell Bowman, and Lynn Edwards.
Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Lafoe, Juan Ladsama, Danny Singletary, and George Furgeson.
