A memorial service for Betty Isabel Jefferson will be held on September 25, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Central Louisiana Veteran’s Cemetery, Leesville, LA under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service
Betty Isabel Goodwyn Jefferson was born to James Fred and Gladys P. Goodwyn on February 11, 1947, in Baltimore, Maryland. She transitioned from earth to heaven on September 19, 2020 at the age of 73. She received her education in the Baltimore City Public School System and worked as a nurse for many years in the Baltimore area. In 2000, she moved to Louisiana and began serving and ministering others. She retired from Wal-Mart after working in the Leesville store for 10 years. She was the pastor of God’s Outreach Ministry in Leesville where she gave out food, clothing, gas and other needed things to those less fortunate. She continually prayed for others and would speak life and encouragement into people’s lives. She was a very caring woman with a servant’s heart. She attended Greater Love Christian Church and was the director of the choir under Pastor Anderson. Also, she served as the choir director at the Fort Polk Chapel. She was a beautiful, loving wife and mother that was loved by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Gwendolyn Green, Vernita Ann Bryant, and Sallie Young.
She is survived by her husband, Roy Jefferson of Leesville, LA
Sons, Delroy Rawlings of Baltimore, MD, and Troy Rawlings, of Burbank, CA
Brothers, James Fred Goodwyn of West Virginia, and Paul Goodwyn of Baltimore, MD
4 grandchildren, and 10 great grandchildren
