Obituary for Jerry Lee Taylor
A graveside service for Jerry Lee Taylor will be held on August 19, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. in the VA cemetery 3348 University Parkway Leesville, LA with Reverend Bill Russell officiating. Burial will follow at the cemetery under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Visitation will be held at Jeane"s Funeral Service 100 E. Union St. beginning at 5:00 p.m. on August 18, 2016 and will end at 9:00 p.m. It will resume on August 19th from 11:00 at Jeane"s Funeral Service. Jerry Lee Taylor was born on January 11, 1940 to George and Grace Taylor. He passed away on August 12, 2016 at the age of 76. Jerry was a native of West Virginia and grew up in a coal-mining family. He joined the army and served as a tanker in Korea and Vietnam. While stationed in Germany, he met the love of his life, Inge Taylor, and they were married on August 5, 1963. After retiring from the army, he worked for Central Texas College and in transportation at Fort Polk where he taught soldiers how to drive buses. Jerry loved to fish, skeet shooting, working in his garden, and eating pinto bean sandwiches. He loved people. He had a loud bark, but a big heart. Jerry will be missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, one son " George W. Taylor, two sisters and one brother. Left to honor his memory is his wife of 53 years " Inge Taylor Sons: Butch Taylor of Anacoco, LA and Jerry Lee and Gwen Taylor of Lufkin, TX Two brothers: Harold Taylor of Charleston, WV and Donnie Taylor of Charleston, WV Brother-in-law: Clarence WIngo of Winnfield, WV In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to the missionary fund at Toledo Bend Bible Baptist Church, 337-286-5511.
