Obituary for Wilmer Glenn Duffy Gordy
Funeral services for Wilmer Glenn "Duffy" Gordy will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 2:00PM at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Hollis Roberts and Dr. Glen Cooley officiating. Burial will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 10:00AM until service time at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church, 1796 Laurel Hill Rd., Leesville, LA. Wilmer Glenn "Duffy" Gordy was born on August 29, 1937, in Leesville LA, to Joseph and Lela Gordy. He passed away on June 14, 2015 at the age of 77 at his residence. Duffy was a native of Vernon Parish and was a 1955 graduate of Simpson High School. He retired as a Lieutenant from the Louisiana State Police Department after 28 years of service. He also was a farmer for many years raising cattle. He served at Laurel Hill Baptist church in many different areas and was the Chairman of the Deacons. Also he loved to give back and serve others. He was part of the Campers on Mission that built churches and served with Helping Hands ministry. Duffy was preceded in death by his parents- Joseph and Lela Gordy and brother-Roy Gordy. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years " Linda Sue Graeb Gordy of Leesville, LA. Sons: Darrell and Tammy Gordy of New Iberia, LA, Stephen and Sheila Gordy of Glenmora, LA, and David Gordy of Leesville, LA Sister: Mary Ann Butler of Shreveport, LA Grandchildren: Chasity Rollins, Patrick and Dustin Marks, and Nicholas Fitch 3 Great-Grandchildren Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com .
