Obituary for William "Bill" James Gunn

Funeral services for William “Bill” James Gunn will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville with Reverend Mark Christian officiating. The burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Bowen Farquhar, Tony Eldridge, Jacob Bridges, Keith Atkinson, and Thomas Twigg. A visitation will be held at First United Pentecostal of Leesville on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Bill was born June 23, 1937, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi and went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 6, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 85. He proudly served in the US Army and later worked for the postal service. Bill lived in Pensacola, Florida for many years before moving to Leesville where he was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville. He enjoyed fishing when he could and witnessing to people he met about God’s plan of salvation. Bill had a positive attitude and tried to always see the good in people.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lou Ann Gunn; parents, Benjamin Harrison Gunn & Fannie Viola Gibson Gunn; brother, Robert Gunn; and sister, Helen Gunn Goodrich.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Caslyn “Cassie” Danyelle Farquhar and husband Bowen of Anacoco, LA;

grandchildren, Case & Crew Farquhar;

brothers, Frank Gunn, Otis Harrison Gunn, Charles Edward Gunn, and John Peter Gunn;

sisters, Louise Gunn Wingate and Edith Gunn;

and a host of extended family members.
