Obituary for William Bill Goodwin
Funeral services for William "Bill" Lenard Goodwin were held on Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 11:00 AM in the Jeane"s Funeral Chapel, 100 E. Union St., Leesville, LA, with Rev. Joseph Merchant officiating. Burial will follow in Ebenezer Cemetery, Hicks, LA, under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service. Visitation was on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, from 4:00 " 9:00 PM at Jeane"s Funeral Chapel. Mr. Goodwin was born on December 7, 1951, to William Sr,. and Mildred Scholl Goodwin in Reading, PA, and passed away on March 29, 2015 at his residence at the age of 63. He was a Vietnam Veteran, and met the love of his life while serving in Thailand. She was his pen pal and through letters Bill asked her to marry him. He worked in construction at Ft. Polk and then worked for several years doing maintenance for Kurthwood Manor, "The Woodlands". He loved to collect currency, woodworking, and working on cars. Also, he loved to raise a garden and to fish. Preceding him in death were his parents William, Sr., and Mildred Goodwin. Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, June Goodwin. Daughters: Bobbie Jo "BJ" Keiper (Donald) of Hicks, LA, Tammy Goodwin, (Anthony) of Hicks, LA, and Kimberly Goodwin of Hicks, LA Grandchildren: Anthony Kizer, Brenden Keiper, and Country Kizer Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com
