Obituary for Wilbur Curtis Brumley II
Funeral services for Wilbur Curtis Brumley II will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022, at Leesville First Baptist Church with Reverend Jerry Penfield officiating. Burial will follow in Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Aaron Gomez, Calvin McGraw, Curtis Wilson, David Brister, George Jeane Jr, Tater Reynolds, and Ricky Dourty. A visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, May 14th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Curtis was born July 23, 1960, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away May 11, 2022, in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 61. In 1979, he graduated from Leesville High School, and he attended Cooper Baptist Church and Leesville First Baptist Church. Curtis worked in the papermill/pulp wood industry since the 1980’s and enjoyed metal fabrication making deer blinds and silhouettes. In his younger years, he was a rodeo clown and bull fighter. Curtis especially liked being outdoors fishing and hunting. Being an avid angler, he spent many hours on the water and worked as a fishing guide for a time. He loved spending time with his family and teaching them the art of fishing.
Curtis was preceded in death by his mother, Leila Jean Hoover Brumley.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Angela Brumley of Leesville;
sons, Randy Brumley and wife Collette of Eros, AR and Justin Simmons of Texarkana, AR;
daughters, Christina Brumley, Ashley Craddock and husband Kyle, Dacia Spadafina and husband Michael all of DeRidder, LA and Misty Foitek of Kemah, TX;
grandchildren, Natalie, Ethan, Amber, Maci, Ayden, Izabella, Nate, Mikey, Gabe, Makennah, Adam, and Maddy;
father, Wilbur Curtis Brumley of Leesville;
brother, John Brumley and wife Karan of Leesville;
sister, Pam Creamer and husband Randy of Anderson, SC;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
