Obituary for Wanda Sue Ray
Wanda Sue was born November 29, 1939 to the late Austin and Lillie Hillman in Louisiana.
She passed away on December 19, 2022 at her home in Simpson Louisiana. She was a Wife, Mother,
Sister, Daughter, and Maw Maw to her family. She had a great love for our Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.
Serving faithfully in different positions in the church and was member at Simpson Baptist Church. Wanda Sue over her lifetime owned a lumber business, worked at Simpson Schools, and held several other positions. But, most of all she raised and nurtured a loving family.
She was preceded in death by her Husband James Carl Ray who passed away October 17, 2020, daughter, Cynthia Diane Ray, parents, Austin and Lillie Hillman, and 3 brothers, Troy Hillman, Howard Hillman, and Travis Hillman.
Wanda Sue is survived by 3 sons, Richard (Aprile) Burns, Michael (Donna) Burns, Billy (Kathy) Ray and
daughters, Vickie (Jesse) Standifer, and Chelsea (Scottie) Benjamin. Brothers, Glendon Hillman, Dale Hillman, and Therman Hillman. Grandchildren Nick Burns, Amber Smith, Justin Burns, Zack Burns, Aaron Burns, Cody Burns, Josh Burns, Jas Standifer, Courtney Hagan, Carleigh Standifer, Stephani Swisher, Mitchell Ray and 26 Great Grandchildren.
A graveside service for Wanda Sue Ray will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at 10:00 AM in Welcome Cemetery, Simpson, LA, under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
