Mrs. Fletcher, known to her family and friends as “Ms. Virginia”, was born on July 19, 1944, in Leesville, LA, to John Solomon Fletcher and Bessie Mae Fletcher. She was a graduate of Leesville High School. In 1960, Virginia married Kenneth Fletcher of Pickering, LA, who has been her life-long companion for 56 years. Many may remember Virginia as a school bus driver for the Pickering School system for over 28 years. Along with her husband Kenneth, Virginia planted and tended to a peach orchard for over 40 years. The Fletcher’s annual peaches and honey were a favorite to many for decades. She really enjoyed keeping up with the activities of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren but especially all the ball games and dance recitals. Virginia was a nurturing wife, momma, mawmaw, aunt, and friend who will be greatly missed by all.
Mrs. Fletcher was preceded in death by her parents, sister – Billie Faye Windham, and brother – Henry Curtis (Buddy) Fletcher.
Left to cherish her memories are:
