Obituary for Twana Kae Blanchard White
Twana Kae Blanchard White was born September 27, 1978 and passed away December 13, 2019 at the age of 41.
She was a graduate of Leesville High School and lived most of her life in Vernon Parish. She loved God, her momma, hunting with her grandpa, fishing, family gatherings and church on Sundays. Short in statue and a feisty temperament, she grew into an extremely strong and independent young woman who quickly became a consummate Caregiver.
She started her life at the Alexandria Zoo as an animal caretaker and later in nursing school. She loved the fast-paced life in the hospital, ER's and clinical settings.
In her late 30's Twana lost her mother and recommitted her life to God. She married Jamie in April 2016 and joined First Presbyterian Church at DeRidder where she was very active. Her journey continued service through a local 12 step program. She and her husband joined Life Assisting Fellowship, a faith-based organization. She also returned to nursing as a volunteer at the Agape Clinic. Lastly, she joined her good friend in opening ZiZi's treats in Rosepine as a specialty baker.
Twana was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Buxton and Carolyn Sue McClennan.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, James K. "Jamie" White and extended family.
First Presbyterian Church in DeRidder, 202 N. Royal St., will host a visitation from 3-5pm on December 16, 2019. A memorial service will be in the Church Sanctuary at 6pm with Reverend Jerry Egbert officiating.
