Obituary for Torrey Angelo Jackson
Torrey A. Jackson lovingly known to family and friends as “Ray” was born September 4, 1967 to the union of Leroy and Bernisteen Jackson in Plainfield, New Jersey. Leroy Jackson was led to move the family to Milwaukee, WI June of 1974. Minister Torrey graduated from Riverside University High School 1985 and went on to attend Concordia College where he met and married in 1990 to that union was blessed with two beautiful children. Minster Torrey moved to Louisiana in 1995 and soon got busy working to build a life for him and his family. 1998 He met Pastor Carl Clark Sr., and they became fast friends, in 1999 he felt lead to join Rivers of Living Waters. After joining Rivers, Minster Torrey began to work in every area he could to help push the vision of the ministry. Torrey met and was united in holy matrimony to Gertrude “Trudie” Cosby in 2001 she too became a member of Rivers and she also began to work the vision alongside her husband.

In his leisure Minister Torrey enjoyed cooking, baking, grilling, fishing, and spending time talking, telling jokes and laughing with his family and friends. Torrey would spend hours in his prayer room increasing his relationship with God and knowledge of the Bible. Torrey dedicated his life to ministering to those around him and helping each person in any way he could. He was a wonder Son, Brother, Father, Husband, Grandfather, Nephew, and Friend.

Torrey departed this life on Sunday, July 26, 2020 he was proceeded in death by his Grandparents Oliver & Ocie Sellers, Gardner & Ellen Jackson, father Pastor Leroy Jackson. Uncles Henry, Joseph (Gloria), Oliver Jr. (Eunice), Melvin, Aunts Jean, Wilma Jean and a beloved cousin Syvette “tiki”). He leaves to cherish his memory Wife Gertrude “Trudie” Jackson, sons Dominique (Vanessa Pena), Christopher, Kitron. Daughters Desiree’ (Darron) & Venice. His seven grandchildren Anicya, Zaniya, Madisen, E’kiya, Addysen, Kendell Jr. and Brycen, his Mother Bernisteen, Brothers Rubin (Deliya), Chris, Alvin (Dean), David, Victor (Nicole). Sisters Gloria (John), Liz, Mae (Cephas), Annie (Jamie), Carrie, Rebecca, Ocie, Victoria. And a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A graveside service for Torrey will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 3, 2020 in the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 3348 University Parkway Leesville, LA, with Reverend Carl Clark Sr. officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The service will be live streamed on Jeane Funeral Service Facebook page, and the video will be available for viewing after the service as well. Please send floral arrangements or plants to the memorial service only.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at Rivers of Living Water Church, 509 N. 3rd Street Leesville, LA, with Reverend Carl Clark Sr. officiating.

A celebration of Torrey's life will also be held at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 14, 2020 at Abundant Faith Church, 7830 W. Good Hope Road Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53223.

In Torrey’s honor, friends and family are encouraged to wear a Green Bay Packers jersey or a team jersey of their choice to the services. Please follow social distancing guidelines and wear a face mask.
