Obituary for Timothy Ignace Boylan

Timothy Ignace Boylan, affectionately referred to as Ppaw, age 56 of Montgomery, TX passed away at DeBakey VA Hospital in Houston, TX January 14, 2022 after a long, hard-fought battle with pancreatic cancer.

Tim, as he was known to friends and family, was born November 5, 1965 in Lake Charles, LA to Dorothy Richard Boylan and Charles Francis Boylan.

Tim graduated from Sam Houston High School in Moss Bluff, LA where he played varsity football. After high school, he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged after 10 years of service. He served during Desert Storm and was stationed twice at the DMZ in Korea. While in Korea, he was awarded the distinctive award as Soldier of the Quarter and had the honor of meeting President Bush. His MOS was 63D, (Artillery Mechanic) and Motor Sergeant in Fort Polk, LA 5th Infantry Division. Tim decided to go back to college at the age of 50. He attended Victoria College in Victoria, TX and graduated with an Associate Degree in Industrial Instrumentation. His family was so proud of his accomplishment and bravery. Throughout his life he worked in plants in various cities in Texas and Louisiana.

One of his greatest accomplishments was becoming an official calling basketball, baseball, and softball games. He studied the craft and mentored numerous young officials. Tim could quote most every rule in any situation on the field. He made numerous friends all over Louisiana and Texas.
He was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Richard Boylan.

Left to cherish his memory is the mother of his children and dear friend, Robin Harris Mitchell and husband Gregory Mitchell of Montgomery Texas; Daughter, Holly Boylan Segura and his grandson Timothy Liam Segura of Montgomery, TX; Son, Timothy “Steven” Boylan, wife Taylor Boylan and grandson Jackson Cole Boylan all of Anacoco, LA. Sister Diane Murry and husband Mickey Murry of Little Rock, Arkansas; Brother, Robert Cummings of Lake Charles, LA; Sister Sandy Hawkins Deskavich of Turners Falls, Massachusetts. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends and family.

Tim’s life revolved around his kids Holly and Steven and their families. But his two grandsons, Liam and Jackson, were what made him get up and go to chemo treatments. Near the end he was so tired and weak but he hoped that the chemo could buy him more time with his two “Sunshines” as he referred to Liam and Jackson. Tim was the best Ppaw a boy could have. He loved to fish and he passed that love to his kids and grandkids. He loved all things LSU and bled purple and gold!

The Celebration of his life will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, January 22, 2022 in Anacoco, LA at Crystal Springs Baptist Church with interment being held at Mitchell Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, Tim asked that donations be made in his name to the Lustgarten Foundation Pancreatic Cancer Research. 100% of the donation goes to research.

Pallbearers: Steven Boylan and Liam Segura, Greg Mitchell, Tom Roberts, Tre Roberts, Ty Roberts, Robert Cummings, Mickey Murry,
