Obituary for Timothy Eugene Dowden Sr.
A graveside service for Timothy Eugene Dowden Sr. will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 7, 2021, in Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery with Brother Hilton officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Timmy was born May 26, 1964, in Many, Louisiana and passed away July 26, 2021, in Shreveport, Louisiana at the age of 57.
Timmy enjoyed much of his life in nature. He loved camping, swimming, pond fishing, and being with friends and family. Timmy was a very talented carpenter and skilled handyman. He enjoyed using his craftsmanship to bring to life his visions. Timmy always took the time out to share with others his knowledge and to lend a helping hand. He loved to grill in the outdoors while observing a perfect campfire next to the sound of a nearby flowing creek. Timmy loved to listen to music on the radio and live band performances. BIG Timmy never missed a moment to share his smile and the opportunity to make someone laugh. Timmy’s stories will be missed immensely. Timmy’s time has come to turn the page to the next chapter of this known life.
Mr. Dowden was preceded in death by his parents, Arnold Dowden and Marie Dowden of Plainview, LA; brothers, Joe Dowden, Dennis Lane Dowden of Shreveport, Eddie Arnold Dowden of Hornbeck; sister Peggy Dean Dowden; nephews, Bronson Lynn Cook of Florien and Ronnie Dowden of Zwolle; and niece, Tammy Dowden of Hornbeck.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Timothy Eugene “T.J.” Dowden Jr. of Anacoco, LA;
daughter, Abigail Marie Dowden of Lake Charles, LA;
brothers, Roy Lee Dowden and wife Susan of Hornbeck, LA; Jerry Dowden and wife Sue of Hornbeck, LA and Gary Dale Dowden and wife Glenda of Slagle, LA;
sister, Patsy Jean Self and husband Lee Eddie of Florien, LA;
grandson, Elias Zane;
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Timmy’s family is planning a memorial service and the arrangements will be posted by Jeane’s Funeral Service.
