Obituary for Terry Tyrone Williams
A funeral service for Terry Tyrone Williams will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church of Leesville, 1210 Mw Harrison St. Leesville, LA, with Pastor Joseph L. Garner officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. at the church on Tuesday.
Terry was born November 30, 1958, to the union of Claude C. and Inez Williams of Leesville, LA.
Terry accepted Christ at an early age and in later years was baptized again. He was a devoted Christian. As a young boy, he hustled various ways like shining shoes at Fort Polk and was known to the locals as Swatman. Terry worked on both North and South Fort Polk for many years as a cook, Union Rep, and DFA. He was loved and respected by many.
He met the love of his life and long-time companion, Dorothy, and the two married July 28, 2005. He loved to play Bingo, going to the casino, traveling, and spending time with family.
Terry departed this life Sunday, November 14, 2021. He was preceded in death by his mother and father; one sister, Judith Jordan; and two brothers, Johnny Ray White and Andrew Johnson.
He leaved to cherish his memory his wife, Dorothy; sister, Schelia Williams; brothers, Courtney Johnson (Cynthia), Charles Williams, and Jerry Williams (his twin); two daughters, Terri Inez Williams Spikes, and Kery Santo; three sons, Ron Suel, Phillip Taytan, and Terry Williams Jr.; nine grandchildren; stepson, Steve Langton; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Mae Johnson and Cynthia Johnson; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be Courtney Johnson, Obie Ashworth, Charles Williams, Jerome Johnson, Timothy Moore, and Jonathan Wallace. Honorary pallbearers will be Nate Sterling and Steve Langton.
