Obituary for Steven "Steve" Lee Norris
Steven “Steve” Lee Norris was born March 23, 1952, in Fort Worth, Texas and passed away at his home in Leesville, Louisiana on December 2, 2022, at the age of 70. He proudly served in the U.S. Army for twenty years. During that time Steve was stationed overseas in Germany and Korea. While serving in the Army he drove heavy equipment such as tanks, and after retirement he became a truck driver. Steve enjoyed listening to music and always wanted to learn to play the guitar. He found pleasure in the simple things in life such as spending quiet time on the lake or sitting on his front porch listening to music and watching his chickens.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, Zaccheus C. Norris and Thelma Jo Hooper Norris and brother, Michael Norris.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 17 years, Lavonna Norris of Leesville, LA;
stepson, Dennis Ferestad of Houston, LA;
sister, Mary Alice and husband Jerry Carroll of Grandview, TX;
numerous nieces & nephews and great-nieces & nephews;
and close friend, Sherman Erwin.
A memorial service with military honors will be held for Steve at Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Monday, December 12, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
