Obituary for Shirley Ann Johnson
Funeral services for Shirley Ann Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Gravel Hill Baptist Church in Pitkin. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. A visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, December 14th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Shirley was born December 10, 1959, in Elizabeth, Louisiana and passed away December 10, 2022, in Pitkin, Louisiana at the age of 63. She lived in the Pitkin area all of her life and attended local churches. Shirley enjoyed reading her Bible and riding country roads with the windows down. Her hobbies included hunting when she was younger, fishing, cooking, and shopping. She loved spending time with her entire family and especially liked sitting on her front porch drinking coffee and talking to her sisters.
Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Carlos Perkins; parents, James Huey Johnson and Dollie J. Johnson; brother, Donald Ray Johnson; and brother-in-law, Paul Morrison.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Jesse Johnson of Pitkin;
daughters, Dottie Sipes of Pitkin, Shiranda Strother, and Jacklyn Riffle (Anthony) all of Leesville, LA;
grandchildren, Cade Hargrave, Candace Noel (Brandon), Seth Sipes, Landon Strother, Eli Strother, Kalem Johnson, Kynzlie Johnson, Kennedy Johnson, and Kambri Johnson;
great-grandchildren, Paisley Hargrave, Cash Hargrave, Emmett Noel, and Paislea Noel;
brother, John Henry Johnson of Pitkin;
sisters, Wanda Marie Morrison, Wanda Jean Reed (Phillip), Wanda Lou Johnson (James Kenneth) all of Pitkin, and Linda Stebbins of Leesville;
her companion of many years, Lonnie Ray Gradney;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
