Obituary for Samuel Robert Brown
Funeral services honoring the life of Samuel Robert "Sam" Brown will be held on Friday, March 20, 2015, at 2:00 PM at the West Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, Leesville, LA with Rev. Jerry Keys and Jerry Jeane officiating. Samuel R. Brown, the son of John and Nancy Brown, was born on May 12, 1934 in Greenville, SC, and passed away at the age of 80 on March 16, 2015. Mr. Brown was a native of Greenville, SC and was a Vietnam War veteran having served 2 tours. He met and married the love of his life at Ft. Polk, and they traveled around the world together. He retired as a 1st Sgt. after 22 years and received numerous medals and honors for his military service. He had been a resident of Vernon Parish since 1969. After retirement Mr. Brown worked at Fort Polk and in the Leesville community for many years. He loved to follow his grandsons and their activities. Also, he enjoyed fishing, especially trotline. Mr. Brown was preceded in death by his parents and siblings. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Eula Mae Bonner Brown.
