Obituary for Ruth Anna Brumfield
Ruth Ann Peavy Brumfield, 90, of Vernon Parish, LA passed from this life on April 2, 2020. She was born in Leesville, LA in 1929. She married Robert (Bob) E. Brumfield in Leesville on March 29, 1950. They lived in Baton Rouge for a short while then moved to Ruston on transfer from LSU to Louisiana Tech. After college, they moved to Houston, TX where he worked for Sears and Ruth owned a beauty shop. She would come home to have her kids, Susan and Ricky, but Phillip had such complications they stayed in Houston for him. Her family moved around a lot because of her husband’s job. They lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and Pueblo, Colorado until moving back to Leesville in 1968.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Suzie Peavey; husband, Bobby; younger siblings, Carbett, Johnie, Herbert, Wanda, and infant brother Phillip.
Her memorial service will be held at St. Michael's the Archangel Catholic Church in Leesville, LA on Sunday, July 19, 2020 at noon. All are invited to come as we celebrate a life well lived.
