Obituary for Roy Bennett
Roy Bennett was born October 8, 1939, and passed away March 29, 2022, at the age of 82. He lived in the Shreveport, Boyce, and Simpson areas and earlier in life was self-employed as a painter/contractor. Roy was dedicated to his business. His hobbies included hunting and fishing.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, William Bennett and Amie Jackson Bennett and siblings, Dovie Boswell, Ruthie Johnson, Shelton Bennett, Eunice Bennett, Ray Bennett (his twin), Rufus Bennett, Rena Maccarone, and Henry Bennett.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Scott Bennett; grandchildren, Amanda Hobart and Joshua Bennett; two great-grandchildren; sister, Marge Froehlich; former wife, Pauline Van Mal; extended family members; and friends.
Funeral services for Roy will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at The Church House, 2013 Alexandria Hwy. Leesville, LA, with Reverend Lorraine Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Island Cemetery in Simpson under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Eric Brossette, Tom Jackson, Ladell Temple, Chris Busby, Matthew Busby, Chase Busby, and Sam Craft. A visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
