Obituary for Roy Alan Blackwell
Funeral services for Roy Alan Blackwell will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at Cooper Baptist Church with Reverend Edgar Evans officiating. Burial will follow in Cooper Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Roger Blackwell, David Blackwell, Rodney Blackwell, Robert Blackwell, Randy Blackwell, and Randall Reeves. Honorary pallbearers will be Arnold Blackwell, Sydney Graham, and John Lowery.
A visitation will be held at the church on Friday, December 9th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. and again on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Roy was born June 9, 1966, in DeRidder, Louisiana and passed away December 6, 2022, at the age of 56. He attended Pickering High School and Cooper Baptist Church. Roy worked in construction for Tanner Heavy Equipment and Sydney Graham. He enjoyed baseball, hunting, fishing, and driving hot rods.
Roy was preceded in death by his father, Gerald Roger Blackwell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Irma Ruth Jordan Blackwell of Leesville, LA;
son, Randall Reeves of Lake Charles, LA;
daughter, Kaylee Smith and husband Alex of Lake Charles, LA;
brothers, Arnold Blackwell of Leesville, Roger Blackwell of Leesville, David Blackwell of Anacoco, LA, Rodney Blackwell and wife Tammy of Leesville, and Robert Blackwell and wife Brandie of Leesville;
grandson, Zane Smith;
nieces and nephews, Randy, Daniel, Grant and wife Tessa, Nathan, Hannah, and Emily Blackwell;
great-nieces and nephews, Cameron, Cheyenne, and Keeley Blackwell;
and extended family members and friends.
