Obituary for Rose "R.D." Daniel Lewis
Rose Daniel Lewis, known by most as Daniel or R.D. and yes, PaPa Daniel, embarked on his final journey Thursday evening, January 20, 2022, at the age of 89! By his side were the love is his life, Mary and his loving daughter, Martha. Dad’s journey took him to be with his father and mother, Dan Lewis and Rosa Jackson Lewis; brothers, Reed, Audle, and Erben; and sister, Veuna Mae. Their permanent address for eternity is Main Street, Heaven – The Lord’s House.

children, Martha Blackwell of Simpson, LA, Karen & Kenny Sublett of Grand Junction, CO, Larry & Marie George of Simpson, LA, Debbie & Dexter Goynes of Glenmora, LA, Vickie & Randy Dunnan of Boyce, LA, and Bobby Lane George of IA;
grandchildren, Jason Blackwell, Tracey Blackwell, Shane & Tonya Blackwell, Daniel & Tammy Blackwell, Raymond Olivencia, Casey & Paige George, Savanna & Michael Welch, Brannon & Megan Goynes, Wendy Goynes, Brett Dunnan, and Jeremy & Beth Dunnan;
great-grandchildren, Dayton Hill, Ashton Whitehead, Maeshaelie’ Blackwell, Brady Blackwell, Gunner Blackwell, Faith & Caleb Blackwell, Kelby & Kyler George, Jaryt, Paisley, Devyn, Kristen & McKensley Welch, Ashton & Hadley George, Maddie & Mason Goynes, Josiah & Evelyn Dunnan, and Kurstin & Landon Dunnan;
and a host of nieces and nephews who always checked on Uncle Daniel faithfully. Our family says, “Thank you”, for your love and prayers during Dad’s illness. He loved you all!

A graveside service for Mr. Lewis will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 25, 2022, in Welcome Cemetery with Reverend Dexter Goynes officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Pallbearers will be Brett Dunnan, Louis Delrie, Casey George, Hollis Dean, Brandon Goynes, and Jeremy Dunnan. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason, Shane, Daniel, Brady, Gunner, & Caleb Blackwell, Kelby & Kyler George, and Devyn & Jaryt Welch.
