Obituary for Rosa Pearl Cade
Rosa Cade, 85, of Amarillo, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on September 9, 2020. A viewing will be held at Jeane’s Funeral Service at noon, 100 E. Union Street, Leesville, LA 71446, followed by a 2 p.m. graveside service at Canaan Baptist Church Cemetery, 19190 LA-8, Leesville, LA 71446.
Rosa was born March 22, 1935, in Leesville, LA, to Alsca Seals and Vertie Eaves. She met the love of her life, Jerry Cade, who was then stationed at Fort Polk. They married each other in Leesville, LA in 1957.
Rosa loved the Lord with all of her heart and was regarded as a wonderful home maker. At the time of her passing, she was the oldest surviving member of the Canaan Baptist Church. Rosa was a thoughtful, giving person who always remembered people on their birthdays, holidays and special events. In her spare time, she collected clocks and interesting coins. Rosa especially liked to be “on the go” and did not like to remain idle. Going to concerts and events in Amarillo, such as High Noon on the Square and The Tuba Christmas Show, was how she chose to stay busy. Being an outgoing person, she enjoyed meeting people and easily acquainted herself with strangers. Both friends and strangers alike adored her and were drawn to her radiant personality.
Survivors include her son, Jerry and wife Janie Cade, of Longview, TX, daughter Mary Cade, and son Larry Cade, both of Amarillo, TX, and granddaughter, Amber Nguyen, who was raised by Jerry and Rosa. Additional surviving family are grandchildren Jerri Ross, Summer, Desiree, and Tiffany Cade, six dear great-grandchildren, and her loving sibling, Billie Edwards, of Simpson, LA.
Per Rosa’s wishes, she requests memorials be made in her name to the ASPCA (American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals) https://www.aspca.org/
