“Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew 19:14
Roman Jacob Dupre, 18 months and 15 days old, passed away suddenly on November 29, 2021, in Prospect, Louisiana. Roman came into this world on May 14, 2020, in Leesville, LA to parents, Christina Snider and Isaiah Dupre. He immediately stole hearts with his beautiful smiles and giggles. Roman was an amazing child; full of life and with a spirit that was a blessing to everyone he touched. Roman loved his toys; trucks of all kinds were his favorites. He was constantly on the go with an exuberance that seemed to never end. He was just learning to talk, and repeated everything his mother, Christina, said. A very smart little boy, he had just recently learned to feed himself, and he was so proud of his newly-discovered independence.
Though his life with his family was brief, Roman’s memory lives on in his friends and family. Scripture reminds us that children are the greatest among the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 18:1-5). The joy and laughter that Roman shared reminds us of the joy found in Christ. Roman is greatest among the kingdom, and we rejoice that we will see him again. “Though he brings grief, he will show compassion, so great is his unfailing love.” Lamentations 3:32.
Roman was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Mary Jeaneane Russell, Percy Snider, and Tom & Yvonne Robertson.
Roman is survived by his parents, Christina Michelle Snider and Isaiah Taylor Dupre; grandparents, David Snider & Toni Snider and Carolann Andrus & Dwayne Andrus; great-grandmother, Marilyn Scoggins; aunts, Lyndsie Snider and Emily Andrus; uncles, Joey Vizinat and Jacob Dupre; great-aunts and uncles, Darin & Teresa Chelette, Dexter Snider, and Renee Loftin; cousins, Caitlin Chelette and Megan Chelette; special family friend, Lane Norris; and a host of extended family and friends.
