Obituary for Roger Dean Guidry

Roger Dean Guidry was born January 23, 1959, in Lake Charles, Louisiana and passed away September 28, 2024, at his home in Leesville at the age of 65. He was born and raised in Lake Charles, Louisiana and graduated from Barbe High School in 1977. For many years Roger worked for a fiberglass company then worked as a painter. After living in Lake Charles for many years, he moved to Kurthwood to live a quiet life in the country where he enjoyed being outdoors fishing, riding his four-wheeler, and hunting some. He was a great handyman who could fix anything. He also loved to cook gumbo and bbq outside. Roger had a talent working with wood and would make pens, antique cars and birdhouses. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and brother, and his family will cherish the memories made with him.

Roger was preceded in death by his father, Ellery Joseph Guidry also his grandparents, Ella and Leo Begnaud and Letha Smith.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 31 years, Lisa Denise Simmons Guidry;

sons, Leighton Guidry Broussard and Michael Dean Guidry;

daughters, Stacey Guidry Duos and husband Brandon, Tiffany Guidry, and Alexa Guidry Semien & husband Will;

grandchildren, Lauren and Luke Duos, and Haley Annette Semien;

mother, Dorothy Begnaud Guidry;

brother, Deryl Guidry & wife Tammy;

sister, Katherine Guidry Boone & husband Keith;

and a host of extended family.
