Funeral services for Roger Dale Jeane will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at Canaan Baptist Church with Reverend Jason Nolde officiating. The burial will follow in Canaan Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Kevin Jeane, James Jeane Sr., James Jeane Jr., Michael Dixon, Joshua Shackelford, and C.W. Dowden. The honorary pallbearer will be Paul Jeane.
A visitation will be held at Canaan Baptist Church on Friday, March 31st from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Roger, or R.D. as everyone called him, passed away at Rapides General Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana surrounded by his brother, Kevin Jeane, on the 29th of March at 2:00 a.m. at the age of 62. He was born in Odessa, Texas to his parents, Maxie and Peggy Jeane on April 26, 1960. Roger was a student of Evans High School and completed the 11th grade. He became a roofer in his younger days and had many different skills like his brother, Jerry Jeane. Roger was an especially skilled painter and loved to fish.
Roger was preceded in death by his father, Maxie Jeane; brother, Jerry Jeane; son, Brandon Dale Jeane; and grandson, Tristan Hackett.
He is survived by his mother, Peggy Jeane; one daughter, Ashley Jeane (Michael Dixon); two grandchildren, Imoen Dixon & Makayla Hackett; one great-grandson, Remington Dale Shackelford; two brothers, Kevin Jeane & Donald Paul Jeane; and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends.
Roger’s family extends their heartfelt thanks to the staff at the Rapides Trauma Unit.
