Obituary for Robert Eugene Holden
Funeral services for Robert Eugene Holden will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 1, 2019, at Antioch Baptist Church with Reverends Gil Arthur and Jason Kees officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow in the Antioch Church Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation times will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 31st at the church and again on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Bob Holden was born on the 1st day of October, 1939 in Galloway, TN. He entered eternal rest on October 28, 2019 at the age of 80. Bob and his wife, Mary Jane, were married for 61 years. He was a veteran, serving in our United States Army for over 20 years, retiring in 1977. Bob settled down with his wife and children in Slagle, LA, where he lived for over 47 years. After retiring from the Army, he served as a mail carrier for the Leesville Post Office and retired in 2017 after 36 years. He was a member of East Leesville Baptist Church.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, John Robert and Beatrice Holden; son, Terry Holden; brother, Jerry Holden; and sister, Annece Tremblay.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Mary Jane Holden of Leesville, LA,
son, James Robert Holden of Leesville, LA,
daughters, Susan Freeman and husband Mike of Harrison, Michigan and Deborah Lozano and husband Robert of Leesville, LA,
sister-in-law, Ann Holden,
grandchildren, Edd Freeman and wife Kristen, Chris and J.C. Lozano; April Wilkins and husband Jake, Lika Freeman, Renah Swindle, Laura Lovell, and Ellington Lozano,
nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
The pallbearers for Mr. Holden will be members of the military honor guard.
Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Freeman, Robert Lozano, Edd Freeman, Chirs Lozano, J.C. Lozano, Anthony Jeane, Joe Bolton, Jim Holden, and Jake Wilkins.
