Obituary for Robert Earl Johnson
Funeral services for Robert Earl Johnson will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 1, 2021 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church with Reverends Arlin Smith and Alvin Robinson officiating. Burial will follow in Gravel Hill Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Visitation will be held at the church on Wednesday, March 31st beginning at 6:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service on Thursday.
Robert was born October 17, 1961 in LeCompte, LA and passed away March 30, 2021 in Pitkin, LA at the age of 59. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially all of his great nephews and great nieces. Robert never met a stranger, and if he met you for one time, he remembered you forever. Everyone who met him loved him and adopted him as their own. He was extremely loved by his community of Fullerton, Cravens, and Pitkin. Robert was an honorary fire fighter with the Cravens Volunteer Fire Department. Every year, he looked forward to riding in the fire truck during the Christmas Parade in Pitkin.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Travis M. Johnson and Elsie M. Johnson; sister, Bernadine Johnson; maternal grandparents, Otis and Bessie Potter; and paternal grandparents, Irving and Jewel Johnson.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother, James “Charlie/Tooterbell” Johnson and wife Connie of Pitkin;
sister, Sherry Jeter and husband Randy of Pitkin;
brother by choice, John Hughes and wife Sybil of Orange, TX;
four nephews, Timmy Jeter, Daniel Johnson and wife Kim, John Johnson and wife Danielle, and Jesse Johnson and wife Celie all of Pitkin;
four great nieces, Grace, Tinslee, Hinley, and Leyla;
seven great nephews, William, Tayte, Cameron, Nathyn, Remington, Eagyn, and Samuel;
special friend, Natasha Jeter;
and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Jeter, Daniel Johnson, John Johnson, and Jesse Johnson. His great nephews and nieces will serve as honorary pallbearers.
