Obituary for Rita Mae Powell Monasco
Mrs. Rita Mae Powell Manasco, age 83 of Covington, GA formerly of Many, LA, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Abbey Hospice in Walton County, Georgia. Mrs. Manasco was born November 18, 1930 daughter of the late Charlie and Elizabeth Powell. She was a member of the Apostolic Community Church in Covington and was a Pastor's wife for 28 years. Mrs. Manasco enjoyed cooking and vegetable gardening. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and enjoyed serving people and being loving and compassionate toward others. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Lehman C. Monasco; son, Jerry Wayne Monasco, Sr.; grandson, Ethan Manasco; 5 brothers and 1 sister. Survivors include daughters & son-in-law, Glynda & Pastor Robert Nash of Covington, Denise Renae Hitt also of Covington; grandchildren, Jerry, Jr. & Kayla Manasco of Marthaville, LA, Jamey & Melissa Manasco of Robeline, LA, Amber & David Savell of Many, LA, Nate & Sarah Nash, Johnathan & Tiffany Nash, Tabitha & Blake Seabolt, Dusty Hitt, Joshua & Theresa Hood Hitt and Nick Procell all of Covington; 13 great-grandchildren; 4 sisters; 8 brothers and numerous nieces & nephews. Funeral services for Mrs. Rita Mae Powell Manasco were held Tuesday, Janaury 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Community Church in Covington with. Pastor Robert Nash and Rev. Joseph Hardigree officiated. Services willbe held in Fisher, Louisiana on Friday, January 24, 2014 at 11:00 a.m.in the Emmanuel Pentecostal Church on Shady Hill Rd. with Pastors, Robert Nash, Howard Pennington and Brooks Couburn officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Knot Cemetery on Fisher Fire Tower Rd. under the gudiance of Jeane Funeral Services of Leesville. Friends may visit the family on Thursday, January 23, 2014 from 5 �9 p.m. at the church. Then from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
