Obituary for Richard "Ricky" DeWayne Smith
Funeral services for Richard “Ricky” DeWayne Smith will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 1, 2018, at First United Pentecostal Church of Leesville with Reverends Jon Welch, Rick Allen, Louis Robertson, and Mark Christian officiating.
Visitation will be held on Thursday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Ricky was born on August 27, 1962, in Fort Polk, LA and passed away on February 26, 2018, at his residence in Moss Bluff, LA. Ricky was a 1980 graduate of Hicks High School and attended McNeese and Northwestern Universities. He worked in construction before starting his own business. Then he began working with heavy equipment throughout Louisiana and Texas. In his free time, Ricky loved to read and would spend much time looking for books at the library. He also loved his dog and spending time with his many friends cooking or baking for them.
Ricky was preceded in death by his son, Benjamin DeWayne Smith.

Parents, Elmer and Inez Smith of Leesville, LA
Sister, Karla Jane Smith Wright of Leesville, LA
Grandchildren, Kalie and Caleb Akins of Hineston, LA
