Obituary for Richard "Rick" Earle Greig
A graveside service for Richard “Rick” Earle Greig will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2022, at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 3348 University Pkwy. Leesville, LA, with Father Michiels officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in the cemetery. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s Funeral Service, 100 E. Union St. Leesville, LA, on Friday from 12:30 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Rick was born February 17, 1944, in Chicago, IL and passed away January 30, 2022, in Leesville, LA at the age of 77. Rick was a soldier and retired from the US Army after 20 years of faithful service to this Nation. Following that, he immediately went back to work for the Department of the Army as a Civil Servant for 28 more years. Rick lived all over the world – Korea, Germany, Taiwan, California, Illinois, Texas, and Georgia, but he chose to put down roots here in Leesville when he retired. He loved his friends fiercely, his family even more. He was a grandfather who loved to spoil the kids, a dad who taught life lessons you didn’t know you needed yet, and a husband who cherished his wife above all else.
Rick was preceded in death by his parents, Sam Tomasello and Patricia “Pat” Tomasello.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 42 years, Eun Ju Greig of Leesville, LA;
sons, Richard James Greig and wife Jennifer of San Antonio, TX and Steven Greig of Las Vegas, NV;
daughter, Kimberlee Loy of Clinton Township, MI;
grandchildren, Benjamin & Nathaniel Greig and Ellen Loy
brother, Vincent Tomasello of Antioch, IL;
sisters, Patricia Ansell of Johnburg, IL, Sally Seliga of Ringwood, IL, Doris Pitzen of McHenry, IL, and Maria Feigel of Lake Villa, IL;
and a host of extended family members.
