Obituary for Rev. Joseph Samuel Austin
Funeral services honoring the memory and life of Rev. Joseph Samuel Austin will be held on Sunday, August 17, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at South Park Baptist Church, 1401 University Pkw., Leesville, LA. Rev. Wesley Jackson and Rev. Pat Austin will be officiating. Burial with Masonic services will be at the Oak Forest Cemetery on Hwy 117, Leesville, LA under the direction of Jeane�s Funeral Service. Visitation will start on Saturday, August 16, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. and continue until service time at South Park Baptist Church. Rev. Austin was born on July 16, 1927 in DeRidder, LA and went home to Jesus on August 14, 2014 in Alexandria, La at the age of 87 yrs and 30 days old. He was a United States WWII Veteran having served in the United States Army. He worked for civil service at Ft. Polk for 31 yrs. and was a Minister of the Gospel at Douglas Memorial Baptist Church. He also preached at different churches in the area. He served as a deacon at Good Hope Baptist Church for several years and was a Master Mason for the Lodge of Louisiana and Orange Lodge of Anacoco. Serving the Lord , farming, and being with his family brought great joy to him. Preceding him in death was his wife: Jeanne L. Austin, Parent: J.R. and Maggy Austin, Son and Daughter- in-law: Arthur and Phillis Austin, Granddaughters: Amanda M Austin and Jeanne Austin Alexander, Sisters: Ollie Mae Austin and Bailey Moore. Survivors are: Sons and Daughters in law: Victor and Jean Austin of Leesville, Artie and Diane Austin of Burr Ferry, and Louis �Sam� and Stephanie Austin of Anacoco.
