Obituary for Randal Peyton Chandler
Funeral services for Randal Peyton Chandler will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at Westport Friendship Baptist Church with Reverends Joe Wellman and Braden Martin officiating and William Chandler speaking. Burial will follow in Flactor Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Pallbearers will be Chris Odom, Brad Chandler, Mason Dixon, Keith Smith, George McDonald, and Roger Chandler. Honorary pallbearers will be Jason Smith, Darrell Brinkley, Gene Smith, George Parker, Mike Smith, and Ricky Mixson.
A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, January 2nd beginning at 5:00 p.m. and will continue until the time of service on Tuesday.
Randal was born April 11, 1965, in Leesville, Louisiana and passed away peacefully at home December 29, 2022, in Hicks, Louisiana at the age of 57. He enjoyed attending church at Westport Friendship Baptist Church where he was a deacon and spending time with his family. Randal was a hard-working man, and he liked to enjoy the outdoors doing things like hunting. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, uncle, son, brother, and friend.
Randal was preceded in death by his son, Austin Chandler; parents, Amos Chandler Sr. and Thelma Chandler; and sister-in-law, Jane Chandler.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 28 years, Joy Chandler of Hicks;
daughter, Ashley Chandler of Hicks;
son, Ashton Chandler of Hicks;
sisters, Margaret Dixon and husband Melvin of Hicks, Louise Brinkley and husband Lee of Pitkin, LA, and Linda Smith and husband Gene of Hicks;
brothers, Amos Chandler Jr. and William Chandler and wife Cindy all of Hicks;
and extended family members and friends.
