Obituary for Ramona Juanita Smart
A memorial service for Ramona Juanita Smart will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2022, at Jeane’s Funeral Service with Reverend Alex Dieselkamp officiating. A visitation will be held at Jeane’s on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service.
Ramona was born April 26, 1952, in Houston, Texas and passed away October 21, 2022, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 70. She enjoyed keeping up with family and friends through Facebook and watching episodes of Dark Shadows and Star Trek. Ramona was a lifetime member of American Legion 145 and attended First Christian Church when her health permitted. Collecting coins and Coke memorabilia were her hobbies. She loved her two dogs, Blue and Lady. Most of all, Ramona loved her family and staying in touch with them was important to her.
Ramona was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Martin Bailey; parents, Douglas Raymond Smart Sr. and Ottie Lee Bloodworth Maloney; and brothers, Douglas Raymond Smart Jr., James Lloyd Smart, Joseph Scott Smart, and Michael David Smart.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son, James Marty Bailey (Susan) of Leesville, LA;
daughter, Monica Lynette Bailey of Leesville;
grandchildren, Lara Sanchez (Miguel) of Brownsburg, IN, Katherine Elizabeth Baker, Carol Ann Baker, and Jesse Shane Baker all of Leesville, LA;
great-granddaughter, Luna Celeste Sanchez of Brownsburg, IN;
brothers, Kenneth Edward Smart of Leesville and Paul Randolf Smart (Malanie) of Dallas, TX;
sister, Sharon Carden of Houston, TX;
special friends that she considered family, Mike Underbakke (Crystal) of DeRidder, LA;
and a host of extended family members and friends.
