Obituary for Ralph Orion Sanderson
Ralph Orion Sanderson, 85, peacefully passed from life to life on November 10, 2015 in Tampa, Florida. Ralph was born June 21, 1930, to Tazewell Gilliam and Virginia Bell Sanderson in Fort Worth, Texas. After graduating from Arlington Heights High School in Fort Worth he attended Texas Christian University, graduating in 1952 with a degree in accounting. Before his career would begin, though, he served two years in the United States Army. Following his discharge, and after graduate work at the University of Texas in Austin, he moved to Houston, Texas and began work as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1960 he wed Martha Ann Leach of Leesville, Louisiana, forging a union that would last 55 years and produce two sons. Ralph�s professional career began as an accounting auditor and progressed to positions including Secretary-Treasurer of Napko Paints and President of Intermed Holdings, USA, where he excelled in mergers and acquisitions. He was a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Association for Corporate Growth. During his residence in Houston, Ralph was a member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. Following his retirement, he and Martha Ann resided in Tampa, Florida. Ralph was predeceased by his parents and his only brother, Tazewell Gilliam Sanderson, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife Martha Ann, sons William Ralph (Amy Gavin) Sanderson, with their daughters Claire and Ann Marie, and James Claude Sanderson. He is also survived by sister-in-law Ethel Sanderson and her four sons. Ralph once wrote that his family, �brought purpose, occasional challenge, and constant joy to his life.� He is remembered as an intelligent and kind man, with a selfless heart. A celebration of his life will be held on Thursday, December 10, 2015 at the First Methodist Church of Leesville, Louisiana. Burial will follow in the Leesville Cemetery under the direction of Jeane's Funeral Service.
