Obituary for Patsy Elaine Brown Cavanaugh
Funeral services for Patsy Elaine Brown Cavanaugh will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at First Baptist Church of Hornbeck with Reverends Jack Bell and Jeff Hoffman officiating. The burial will follow in Prewitt’s Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. The pallbearers will be Jordan Mosley, Adam Mosley, Robert Howard, Ronnie Knippers, Lowell Brown, and Garland “Bubba” Cavanaugh. The deacons of First Baptist Church of Hornbeck will serve as honorary pallbearers.
A visitation will be held at the church on Monday, April 10th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Patsy was born April 1, 1944, in Hornbeck, Louisiana and passed away April 6, 2023, in Bossier City, Louisiana at the age of 79. She had a unique birthdate because she shared it with her father and first grandson. Patsy worked as the office manager of Gregory Eye Clinic in Many, LA and was a member of First Baptist of Hornbeck for most of her life. She was a prayer warrior and loved to study the Bible. One of her spiritual gifts was being an encourager. She was a devoted homemaker and spent many hours planting flowers to make her home beautiful. You could often find her at the end of a water hose watering her plants. She had a special place in her heart for her dog, Tiger. Her children and grandchildren were the center of her life, and they have precious memories of spending time together.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, Atlas Carnival Brown & Lacy Irene Chance Brown and brother, Lee Atlas Brown.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of nearly 60 years, Jack Cavanaugh of Hornbeck, LA;
son, Rondle Cavanaugh of Bossier City, LA;
daughter, Jackye Mosley and husband Carl of Longview, TX;
grandchildren, Jordan & Adam Mosley;
and extended family members.
