Patricia Anne Alford was born in early 1942, in Berlin, Maryland to Paul A. and Marcinia Stephenson. She passed away on August 22, 2023, in Pineville, LA at the age of 81.

Upon graduation from high school, Patricia proudly served her country in the United States Army. She had been a resident in Maryland, Louisiana, Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina. On June 6, 1973, she wed W. R. Alford of Vernon Parish. Over the next 50 years, they shared a beautiful family and many wonderful memories together.

She enjoyed the ocean (specifically Sullivan’s Island, SC), reading, studying the Bible, writing poems, and telling stories. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys Fanatic; fan wouldn’t adequately describe the intense nature in which she approached those games. She, in earlier years, enjoyed bowling and playing baseball, not softball. She played short-stop on a youth baseball team and competed, without question, with passion and a desire to ‘win’. During her early adult life, she bowled competitively and achieved 10 ‘perfect’ games of 300. Patricia thoroughly enjoyed watching / listening to FOX News.

Her achievements can be seen in those she invested her life in. She never wanted to be ‘front and center’, rather chose to support and mentor from behind the scenes. Always encouraging and looking for the ‘best’ in others was how she chose to lead. Her wit and wisdom will be sorely missed. Her sense of humor was, truly, one of a kind. She was never without an answer to any question and often quoted “…I was only wrong once, when I was five years old……”

If she had disappointments, it would be in her absence from us now – unable to share ‘Jesus’ with others.

She was preceded in death by her siblings Bobbi Ellis and Betty Lewis.

Left to cherish her memory are her husband of fifty years, W.R. Alford of Winnsboro, LA

children: Bill Alford and wife Amy of Tx, Barry Alford, and wife Belinda of SC, loving and caring mother of Brittany Carmen of Fl

grandchildren: Autumn Alford Bell, Jordon Alford Bartell, and Hunter Alford

great grandchildren: Ellie, Rylee, and Brady Bell

sibling: Bill S.

We will honor her life and legacy each day we remain. Jesus is “THE” Way Maker.
