Nancy was born March 19, 1931, in Alvarado, Texas and passed away June 23, 2023, in Leesville, Louisiana at the age of 92. She loved every second of life spending time with her family from going to football, baseball, and softball games to dance recitals. Her weekends were full of love and much laughter. She loved sitting on the porch watching a swimming pool full of her kids and grandkids swimming, playing baseball in the pool, and judging who had the best jump or dive. By the way, she taught all of her grandchildren how to swim even though she couldn’t swim. Nancy also got a kick out of watching her family playing hide-and-go-seek on horses, fishing in the pond, and riding three-wheelers back in the day. Holidays were extra special for her and her husband knowing everyone would be together. She enjoyed watching her children, grandchildren, and sons-in-law play in the annual Turkey Bowl backyard football game after stuffing themselves with her special turkey dressing, famous fried chicken, and numerous desserts. Everyone waited for her delicious rolls to rise and come out of the oven. Nancy enjoyed going for rides with her grandchildren and catching up on the latest happenings with them. She loved watching LSU and Saints games with her family and all of the hollering and screaming that went along with it. Nancy was extremely supportive of her husband, T.L. “Sonny” Berry, with all of his military and civic functions to include the Chamber of Commerce, numerous military affairs committee activities, and many military functions and trips. Nancy and T.L. graciously hosted Chamber events at their home which was an All Call to their whole family to pitch in and make it happen from hosting crawfish boils to fish fries. She graduated from Leesville High School in 1948 and remained a devoted Wampus Cat fan. Nancy so loved her close-knit family as they all loved her. Yes, things will be different, but her family is grateful for all of the love and good times shared with her. These are things that she shared with the hearts of her family and they will continue to share the love just like she did.
“Mom, you will be forever in our hearts. Thank you and daddy for all the great memories. Now go be with daddy and our PawPaw in Heaven.”
