Myron David “Bugsy” Vinson was born in Leesville, La on May 2, 1955 to Paul and Ramona Vinson. He attended Pickering High School. Bugsy was a brother, father, grandfather and friend to many. Bugsy began working for his parents from a young age in several of their family-owned businesses. Bugsy owned and operated B&R Tire Shop in Leesville with the help of his son Trent. Later, he traveled overseas to Iraq and worked for KBR at Camp Speicher/G9 in Tikrit, where he was a carpenter and later became a construction foreman. He built many places for the soldiers to rest and relax. Lastly, he worked for Allied on the pipeline from Louisiana to North Dakota where he started off running heavy equipment and worked his way up to becoming an inspector for the company.
Hunting and fishing were his passion. He loved the outdoors and being in nature. You could find him bailing hay in the summer days and coaching his sons Dixie Youth baseball teams. He spent many of those summer nights dropping a line in Toledo Bend trying to catch “OLE LUTHER”, as he would say. Bugsy loved animals; he had a variety. He raised anything from cows to rabbits and everything in between. During the winter months, he loved to deer hunt. He spent years running dogs on the Bullseye hunting club where he built many lasting friendships.
Bugsy Vinson was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ramona Vinson, and son, Trent Vinson. Myron David “Bugsy” Vinson passed away on April 27, 2022 at the age of 66 years, 11 months, and 25 days. He is survived by three sons and one daughter-in-law, David and Martha Vinson of Leesville, Wesley Vinson of Sulphur, and Casey Vinson and fiancé Kim Boliek of Leesville and one daughter and son-in-law, Tabatha and Greg Green of Leesville; grandchildren; Chelsea (Paige), Haley, Briar, Dawson and Layla. Bugsy also leaves three great grandchildren, Huxson, Coleson and Jaicee, one sister Amelia (Mac) Hinson, two brothers Paul (Buck) Vinson and Robert (Peanut) Vinson to cherish his memory.
Pallbearers will be Glen Davis, Robert Sumrall, Brian Bass, David Vinson, Wesley Vinson, Casey Vinson, and Richie Vinson.
