Obituary for Murrell Jackson
Funeral services for Murrell Jackson of Simpson, La. will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, April,25, 2013 at Simpson Baptist Church in Simpson, La. with Rev. Jeremy Blocker officiating. Burial will follow in the Pine Ridge Cemetery under the care of Jeane's Funeral Service of Leesville, LA. Mr. Jackson, 73 was a lifelong resident of Simpson and had served his country faithfully for 10 years as a United States Marine SGT. During his time he served Two tours of service in Viet Nam where he was wounded several times. For this service, he received the Purple Heart, Bronze Star and numerous other citations and awards. After release from duty he worked as a carpenter and was know for always being Happy and striving to help others even if it meant giving them the shirt off his back. He was a lifelong member of Simpson Baptist Church and was truly a faithful friend to all. Preceding him in death were his parents, Elton and Edna Bennett Jackson , six brothers and two sisters Survivors are: Sister: Sue Johnson and husband Larry of Hornbeck, La. Brother: Billy Wayne Jackson and wife Denise of Pineville, LA. The Family would like to thank the following for all their support . Charles Stuckey, J.R. "Butch:" Smith, Karen Jackson, Bud of Buds Grocery. Special thanks to Sandy Hilger for all love and help and the staff of Grace House . Visitation will begin Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at 5:00 P.M. At Simpson Baptist Church.
