Obituary for Murray Clyde Hunt
Funeral services for Murray “Clyde” Hunt will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, May 17, 2019 at East Leesville Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Kiker officiating. Burial will follow at the Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 16th at East Leesville Baptist Church from 2:00 to 9:00 pm.
Mr. Hunt was born on July 10, 1938 and entered his heavenly home on May 12, 2019 at the age of 80. He was a native to Vernon Parish and lived in Leesville. Mr. Hunt was a 1957 graduate of Leesville High School and a longtime business owner of Hunt’s Grocery and Murray’s Construction before going to work overseas for Kellog’s Brown and Root. During his stent overseas, his job was to assist with building camps for the United States Military in war zones. After retiring, he couldn’t sit still so he went to work at Fort Polk to assist with Role Play. He was a hard worker who enjoyed his coworkers and the many friends he made along the way.
His most valued role in life came when he met the love of his life, Virginia “LuLu” Hunt. The couple married in 1958 and had 6 children. Mr. Hunt was very proud of his children and grandchildren, and he shared stories about his family with everyone he met . He was cherished by many and will be greatly missed.
Left to cherish his memory are his children Danny and Amanda Hunt, Debby Hunt Mace, Denny and Donna Hunt, David and Shirley Hunt, Derry and Sandra Hunt, Dechelle and John Kreyenbuhl; 16 grand children, 23 great-grandchildren, and a host of family and friends. He will be deeply missed.
Pallbearers will be Dustin Hunt, Casey Hunt, Jeremy Hunt, Bobby Gray, Archie Clark, and David Lane.
