Obituary for Millard Nelson George
Millard Nelson George was born February 2, 1945 in Monahas, Texas and passed away January 11, 2020 in Alexandria, Louisiana at the age of 74. He served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years and received many medals and commendations including the Vietnam Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon with device, Good Conduct Medal Second Award, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal Korea, and Third Good Conduct Award. Millard enjoyed hunting and fishing and unfortunately, was an Alabama fan. He loved life and lived it on his own terms.
Millard was preceded in death by his parents, Horace and Mary R. George; brother, Tommy George; grandmother, Eddie Lou Manshack; and brother-in-law, Freddie Murray.
Left to cherish his memory are his brothers, Charles W. George and wife Susan and Bobby L. George and wife Donna,
sisters, Linda G. Loyed and husband Willie, Brenda G. Murray, Margarette George, Mary G. Barrington and husband Mike, and Jeannie G. Causey and husband David,
aunts, Tami Doyle and Erma Gibson,
and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family of Millard expresses appreciation to Regency House, Compassionate Care, and his sitters – Audie, Deborah, Tess, and Deborah – for the care they gave to him.
A private service will be held to celebrate his life.
