Obituary for Mildred Virginia Jones
Services honoring the life of Mrs. Mildred Virginia Davis Jones will be held on Tuesday August 16, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Toledo Bend Baptist Church 10347 Hwy 111 East with her grandson, Rev. Michael Goins and Rev. Bill Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Prewitts Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck, LA under the direction of Jeane"s Funeral Service of Leesville. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. at Toledo Bend Baptist Church on Monday, August 15, 2016. Mrs. Mildred was a lifelong resident of the Anacoco and Hornbeck communities. She was born on February 3, 1924 in Plainview Community to Charlie and Hattie Bell Brown Davis and passed away on Sunday August 14, 2016 at the age of 92 yrs. 6 months, and 11 Days. Mrs. Mildred was a charter member of Toledo Bend Bible Baptist Church, where she sang alto in the choir. She worshiped the Lord through music and being a faithful member. A wonderful cook, she would cook and bring more than enough food for fellowships and enjoyed working in her garden raising vegetables and flowers. But most of all, she loved being with her family and friends. Preceding her in death was her son: Charles Goins, husbands: Howard Goins, Dudley Phillips, and Harold Jones as well as many other family members. Survivors are her daughter and son in law: Beverly and Webster Wilson of Anacoco, LA Daughter in law: Dorothy Goins of Anacoco, LA Grandchildren: Scotty and Michelle Goins, Michael and Deanne Goins, Chad and Laura Wilson, and Tanya and Chris Fournier Great Grandchildren: Rachel and Rebecca Fournier, Bradley and Whitney Goins, and Trace and Blake Goins Words of comfort may be extended to the family at www.jeanesfs.com or on Facebook at Jeane's Funeral Service.
