Obituary for Michael Phillip Rivers
Funeral services for Michael Phillip Rivers will be held on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Oak Forest Baptist Church with Rev. Joe E. Call and Rev. Huey Haymon officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Forest Cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 19, from 5:00 PM– until time of service on Thursday at Oak Forest Baptist Church.
Michael Phillip Rivers was born on May 27, 1974 in Ft. Polk, LA to Dennis and Emily Jane Herrington Rivers. He passed away on September 14, 2018 at the age of 44 at Ft. Polk, LA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to mentor younger kids in the ways of outdoor living. Michael always had a joke and smile and never met a stranger. He was a member of Oak Forest Baptist Church and a mason in the Orange Lodge of Anacoco. He will be greatly missed by all those that knew him.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, J.C. Herrington, Lucille Herrington, Lita P. Rivers and Joseph A. Rivers.
He is survived by his spouse: Christi M Lee of Leesville, LA
Sons: Tyler Rivers (Brooke Corley) and Trent Rivers of Leesville, LA
Step-sons: Tyler Carver (Marissa Carver), Corey Carver (Whitney Oden), and Randall Carver, all of Leesville, LA
Parents: Dennis A. Rivers and Emily Jane Herrington Rivers, of Leesville, LA
Grandson: Bentley L. Carver of Leesville, LA
Brother: Joseph Bouyea of New York
