Michael “Mikey” Hill was born on December 16, 1956 and passed from this life on December 29, 2020 in West Monroe, LA at the age of 64. He was a loving husband, father, and pawpaw. His motto was “God, family, and guns” and he lived by this motto. He loved hunting, arrowhead digging, and shooting his guns, but his true passion was Hot Rods. He loved football and was an avid LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints fan. He played the drums for First United Pentecostal Church in Leesville from the time he was 15 up until the age of 44. He also worked as a certified millwright for Turner Industries for many years until he hurt his back and was no longer able to work. He loved God with all his heart and his daughters were the light of his life. He adored his wife, Jane Hill, whom he was married to for 43 years on the 9th of January. He was her knight in and shining armor, and she was his queen. His grandkids were the center of his world, and there was nothing he wouldn’t do for them, even if it meant babysitting baby dolls, doing hair, or hunting for bugs. To know Mikey was to love him. He had an outgoing personality and loved to joke around. No matter the day you had, he would always make you laugh. He never met a stranger, and his smile would light up the darkest room. He will truly be missed.
Michael was preceded in death by his dad, James Marshall Hill; mom, Willie Marie Stephens; sister, Shirley Jeanette Knight; and son Michael Allen Hill.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Lucretia Jane Hill of Anacoco, LA,
daughters, Lucretia Lynn Woodard (David Ortiz) of Austin, TX and Jeanette Anderson (Kelly Anderson) of Anacoco, LA,
grandchildren, Destinee Faith Hill of Anacoco, LA; Heaven Ashley Woodard of Evans, LA; Airik Anthony Hill of Anacoco, LA; KaiLee Nashae Hill of Anacoco, LA; and Gavin Todd Woodard of Evans, LA,
brother, James Mark Hill of Leesville, LA,
and a host of extended family and friends.
Pall bearers will be Danny Milstead, Bobby George, Rich Bridges, Curtiss Perkins, Phillip Hunt, and Robin Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Marvin Hilton and Billy Glynn Burgess.
The Hill family extends a special thanks to the Cornerstone Specialty Hospital in West Monroe – Chris Simpson, CEO; nurses, Dana Sims, Thelma Barr, Summer, Julie Arrant, Mark Fuller, John Massey, and Danielle Fine; CNA, Vernadette, respiratory therapists, Teresa Delrio, Edge Crum, Susan Herring, Brenda, Susan, Chad, and Fuzzy; physical therapist, Jeff Ellerman; doctors, Dr. Shafiel and Dr. El-Malay; and pulmonologist, Dr. Ron Hammett.
