Obituary for Maxwell "Max" Jeane
A funeral service for Maxwell D Jeane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, April 14, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, 2727 Jackson St. Alexandria, Louisiana 71301, with Reverend Ashley McGuire officiating under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service. Burial will follow in Flactor Cemetery, 1081 Parish Road 831 Leesville, Louisiana.
Visitation will be held on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Maxwell D Jeane, Sr. was born in Hicks, Louisiana on August 6, 1929 to Edward Isaac and Virgie Jeter Jeane. After finishing high school he attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, and received a Bachelor’s and a Master's degree in Agronomy. He also met his wife of 62 years, Jacqueline Barnett, while working on his Master's degree. He is a father of 4 children: Maxwell D Jeane, Jr, Daphne Lynne Jeane, Dawna Linette Jeane, and Kim Warrick Jeane.
Upon completion of his Master's degree he attended Southern Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky where he worked part time as a science teacher in a high school while attending seminary. After much prayer, he decided God was directing his life toward government service and he left seminary for Washington D.C. It is here he spent a majority of his life working at the U.S Census Bureau as a Mathematical Statistician and Systems Analyst. As God blessed his professional career he became the President of the American Society of Quality Control and was selected by the Census Bureau to present the latest concepts to countries throughout Africa.
Maxwell was preceded in death by his parents, Edward Isaac and Vergie Jeter Jeane.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of sixty-three years, Jacqueline B. Jeane
Sons: Maxwell D Jeane Jr. and wife Theresa of Pittsford, New York and Kim W. Jeane and wife Lena of Marrero, Louisiana
Daughters: Daphne Biddle and husband Dennis of Southlake, Texas and Dawna Pike and husband Stephen of Bettwar, Germany
Grandchildren: Christina Jeane, Pavel Glukhikh, Michelle Biddle, James Biddle, Stephen J. Pike, and Stephanie Pike
A host of extended family
