Obituary for Mary Virginia "Ginger" Herring
Services honoring the life of Mary Virginia “Ginger” Herring, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend will be held on Wednesday, September 6, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church, 3255 Belview Road Leesville, LA with Reverends Morris Goins, Huey Haymon, Richard Partridge, and Jeff Coleman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Jeane’s Funeral Service of Leesville.
Visitation will start at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday and will continue until the service time on Wednesday at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church.
Mrs. Herring was a life-long resident of Vernon Parish where she attended school at Leesville and worked for many years as a sales clerk for several businesses. But in her own words, she was a domestic engineer. She loved serving her Savior at Mt. Bethel Baptist Church where she taught children’s Sunday School for years and loved arranging flowers. She especially enjoyed doing arts and crafts in Vacation Bible School.
Preceding her in death were her son, Michael “Mike” Herring; her parents, Bolton Rudolph Daily and Dorothy Jean Daily; and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors are her husband of 52 years, Elton Herring of Leesville
Son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Taryn Herring of DeRidder
Daughter-in-law, Miranda Herring of Leesville
Sisters: Georgeanne Dawson of Las Vegas, NV; Pamela Ballard of NC; and Stephanie Mercer
Brother, Harold “Scooter” Jackson
Seven grandchildren: Chais Herring, Mikey Herring, Evin Green, Tyler Herring, Waylon Herring, Olivia Green, and Lindsey Herring
Four great grandchildren: Bentley Herring, Kayden Herring, Khaleesi Herring, and Ashton Herring
